Acupuncture for Pain & Injury -IMS/Dry Needling

Most people encounter sometime of pain in their lifetime. Whether it is an acute injury, chronic pain or tension, acupuncture works as an amazing healing tool.

Acupuncture helps to relax tight muscles and by needling motor points it gets muscles to fire and engage that have been shut off.

When Acupuncture points are needled it stimulates the body to release endorphins. They are the body's natural painkillers and are estimated to be 10-200 times more potent than morphine; thus increasing our pain tolerance. The body also releases serotonin which helps to elevate mood and increase general overall well being.

Acupuncture helps the body and brain communicate better by increasing blood flow. We need blood to heal the injured muscles. If blood flow is restricted to a particular area, healing won't occur or will be very delayed. Lack of blood flow equals slower healing and often chronic pain.

Acupuncture helps to:
  • decrease inflammation

  • reduce swelling

  • relax muscles and relieve spasms

  • decrease bruising

  • lowers the body’s pain response

  • improves local blood circulation to increase delivery of nutrients and removal of noxious elements

Acupuncture can treat:
  • back pain

  • joint pain

  • neck pain

  • headaches

  • migraines

  • sciatica

  • carpel tunnel

  • breaks and sprains

  • and more
